Captain Sir Harold Campbell, GCVO DSO Royal Navy (1888-1969), was Equerry to the King George VI and then to Queen Elizabeth II 1936–1954.
He was Private Secretary to the Duke of York 1933–1936, and Deputy Comptroller in 1936. When the Duke became King, Campbell was appointed to his Household as Groom of the Robes 1937–1954. From 1954 until his death Campbell was Extra Equerry.
Campbell was made a DSO in 1918. Made a CVO in 1935, Campbell was promoted to KCVO in 1943 and to GCVO in 1953.
